Work & Travel Preparation
As students of the city start to think about their upcoming Work & Travel adventure for the 2009 summer season, it’s not too early to start thinking about being properly prepared for this very important summer.
Being prepared, or being unprepared, will make all of the difference and will determine how much you enjoy your summer.
A three hour seminar before you leave will certainly not properly prepare you for a 3 – 4 months stay in a foreign country and advice from a friend who has spent 3 months in the States before also is not the same as learning the secrets to surviving and having a great time from someone who has spent more than 44 years living in the U.S.
The English Club Work & Travel program opens their Work & Travel preparation course to all students of Chelyabinsk who will go to the U.S. this next summer. The students who have signed up with The English Club Work & Travel program attend this course at no cost, but any other student in the city is welcome to attend for a cost of 5000 rubles.
What do you get for your 5000 rubles? First, you attend our 20 acad. hour course that was started by our Program Manager, Mark Kelleher, and is taught by him. We have classes with an interpreter, and classes without; based on your language skills, you determine which is best for you. Just listening to a native speaker for these 20 hours alone is good practice for the experience you will have this summer. This course is not something found in a book, but has been developed and refined by Mark over the past five years.
You will receive the “how- to” advice on how to prepare yourself so that you get the maximum amount of taxes back, without paying anyone for this service. Most students in the city will be paying a minimum of $75 to get their taxes back. The students that attend this class will pay nothing and will also receive their taxes back more than 6 months earlier than the other students who pay.
All tax forms, customs forms, immigration forms and social security application forms will be completed for you here in Chelyabinsk, before you leave.
You will leave for the States with all maps, schedules and prices to get to your final destination in the States. This removes a lot of stress and uncertainty from your trip.
You will be fully prepared for your new job in the States including the very specific language that is related to all jobs.
You have Mark’s services at your disposal in terms of answering questions and getting advice and you also have this service for the entire time that you are in the States.
Other companies have tried to copy this course, and have not done well at it. This includes even copying our brochures, word for word . Trying to copy this is far from the original. Mark is an American citizen who lived in the U.S. for 44 years before coming to Chelyabinsk. As a citizen, he is able to help you in more ways than anyone else is capable of. Many of you who attend the cities universities are already familiar with Mark and his approach of always trying to help students.
